Orient

What's the deal with Orient iyo? In my early years of following West Ham ( 70s 80s) there seemed to be some relationship between the clubs and the fans too - WH fans went there and they watched us - now there seems to be more antipathy (and I mean before the OS hoo ha). Have the Daggers replaced Orient as our harmless neighbour?

I remember going there along with about 23,999 other people, most of whom were West Ham. Must have been late 70s, or early 80s. We won 4-0, iirc.

We played them at their ground in the FA Cup once. Around 19000 were there of which around 14000 were West Ham.
They were in such a bad financial state that they had some paint off us and the barriers on their terraces were claret and blue!

Definitely true that. They didn't like it either but never saw it come to any harm. Used to be a fair few of our old boys over there when we were playing away. Always a good laugh, too.
Mind, you, back in the day there used to be a fair few who would go to West Ham and then over to Spurs when we were away. At least there was a chance they'd be watching a team try and play football (unlike Arsenal back then...times have indeed changed).

So don't Eindhoven. Why bother to tell us you are not interested in a thread? Save yourself the trouble.

Used to be a time when you would see people with West Ham shirts on watching Orient in the 90's I think that pissed them off somewhat.

SteveIron,
Didn't understand a word of the first part of your reply. No need to reply, I'd rather not keep returning to a page about a club that nobody is interested in.

Rumours about Di Canio going there.
And I DID seek out their forum after reading this post.
Boring bunch.

Leyton Orient, seeing as they are located somewhere between us and Spurs it's not surprising views differ is it. Some like us, some like Spurs, most couldn't give a fuck about either of us and just support their club. Some see Spurs as their most hated rivals, some see us as their most hated rivals, most O's supporters probably see teams like Southend and Millwall as their main rivals as they play them MUCH more often than they ever do us, or Spurs.
